Background

Dr. Pamela Harmell

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. I am often asked about my law and ethics workshops in California and nationally. Instead of trying to return phone calls or emails, I decided to make my schedule of workshops and presentations available in this website (please see Presentation Schedule Section) so interested people could take a look and use it as they please. Also, it is a way of staying in touch with my former students and colleagues who might be interested in receiving an update on legal and ethical issues pre- or post- licensure.

I left my position on the Board of Psychology (psychology licensing board) as President in 2003 after serving on the board for five years. I am past chair (fall, 2005) and a current member of the California Psychological Association (CPA) Ethics Committee and serve as co-chair of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA) Ethics Committee. Additionally, I am President-Elect of LACPA, 2009.

As a "Permanent Lecturer" at Pepperdine University in the psychology doctoral and masters programs since 1990, I teach Professional Ethics and Law, Practicum, and Psychopathology courses.
